IPTV on the personal computer (Windows & MacOS)
Buy a computer – IPTV on the computer
Buy a computer from one of the major retailers such as Elgiganten, Power, or Webhallen. We do not recommend buying a used computer, as you do not know how it has been used previously. Used devices may have been affected by wear and tear, which can impact important components such as the hard drive, processor, or RAM.
In addition, a computer is not always optimized to handle large IPTV playlists, which can contain hundreds of thousands of titles. For the best experience, we instead recommend using an Apple TV or a Formuler Box. That said, a computer still works well for IPTV, but for the optimal experience, a TV combined with a box is the best option.
Whether you already have a computer or plan to buy a new one, it’s a good idea to remove unnecessary apps and programs that are not in use, as they take up storage space and may also consume RAM when running in the background.
Basic settings
Complete the basic setup on your new computer and accept any terms and conditions if the device is new. Sign in or create a Google or iCloud account depending on whether it is a Windows or Mac computer. Install the necessary apps or programs and keep the packaging, as your warranty may be tied to it.
Connect your new device to your network. We recommend using an Ethernet cable (network cable) for a more stable connection, but Wi-Fi also works well if your router is not too far away and has good coverage in your home.
Keep in mind that large objects such as refrigerators, wardrobes, or doors can affect the signal and reduce connection quality. For best results, use a network cable between the computer and the router.
